At least an associate's degree in architectural drafting or a related field is typically required for this position. Steel detailers should have experience in the use of SDS/2 or Tekila X-Steel, and they must be able to read and understand blueprints. Knowledge of 3-D modeling is required. Additionally, steel detailers must be detail-oriented, have exceptional analytical skills, be self-motivated, and proactively deal with work-related problems. This position typically requires prolonged sitting, as well as some bending, stooping, and stretching.
